Month: July 2020

Just over a year

Realised at the weekend that I have been training at BigKat now for just over a year.

Time has flown by with some great times, hard work, laughs, banter, sweat and lots of coffee.

Think I was hooked after competing in the Grassroots but have also enjoyed competing in the online events, imposed after lockdown.

I have only missed a handful of 8am Zoom yoga sessions since the end of March and have regained a taste for rowing.

Big thanks to everyone at BigKat – especially those who have made an online appearance or two –

Chris, Tracey, Jonny, Jamie, Chris, Michelle, Lesley, Elaine, Jenny, Roger, DaveW, Big Dog and also guest appearances from DavidK, Mark, Craig and Ruth.

Looking forward to literally seeing a few faces soon, including little Coach.

So glad I have kept up the training and am feeling fitter and stronger than ever.

Yoga and rowing

Have been keeping up the daily morning yoga sessions in Zoom and also trying to make Monday/Wednesday/Friday for rowing too.

Decided to upgrade my Concept2 monitor to a PM5, so I can use the ErgData app to easily track my workouts.

Ordered on Monday and fitted yesterday. Old PM3 is on eBay, with the old style chest hrm.

Test run went well – 5k in under 18:51.

Have set a target of a sub 7 min 2k by the end of July. (7:10 is best so far this year)
